Remember the Year 1984? No!? Well, me too but a bunch of very cool Japanese dudes created some beautiful handmade frames back then. We where lucky, finding a great bargain on eBay with this Koga-Miyata Proracer-S frame which becomes our next mono gear project. This 60cm Koga-Miyata Proracer-S frame was built (by Miyata) with Hardlite FM-1 double butted cromoly tubes. It’s going to be our first japan only bike so we’re quite excited about this whole project. The making of will be documented much better, than we did before with the Marshal and the Gazelle Mondial. To give you a short teaser, we took some pictures of the frame-set, bottom bracket and headset. The frame is going to be painted cream white with some black details. For now we’re waiting on some major parts to arrive but we’ll post the intermediate result soon.
We decided to use vintage NJS-parts only, if possible.
The bottom bracket is a nice Shimano Dura Ace EX one in nearly mint condition. If we will find the fitting crankset it will match perfect – visual and technical.
The headset also is a Dura Ace EX one. It´s not in that nice condition like the frameset and the bottom bracket. It will be hard work to take it to a good optical state. To make it work like butter, we will use single balls (one more than in the ring) instead of the regular ballrings.
